3. Solve word situations using multiplication and division within 100 involving equal groups, arrays, and measurement quantities; represent the situation using models, drawings, and equations with a symbol for the unknown number.

Subject: Mathematics (3)
Title: Connecting Multiplication and Division: Part III
Description:

This activity should be used as extra practice or an assessment after students have been introduced to the relationship between multiplication and division. Students will find the fact family for a given array and then solve a word problem where they must write the multiplication and division equation that represents the problem.

Title: Arranging Desks: Multiplication and Division Part I
Description:

This learning activity is a great introductory activity that allows the students to build equal groups using arrays. Students will build designs of desk arrangements in a classroom using counters or unifix cubes. Students must take 24 desks and divide them into equal groups to create a classroom desk arrangement. Students will write a multiplication and division equation for each arrangement. This will help students see the relationship between multiplication and division.

Title: Music Concert: Multiplication and Division Part II
Description:

During this learning activity, students will solve a real-life task that allows students to create an array to find the total number of rows of chairs needed at a music concert. Students will write multiplication and division equations and solve them to complete the music concert task. This activity will help students see the relationship between multiplication and division.

1) Elaborate on an individual or prompted imaginative idea.

Examples: Create an imaginative mask showing his/her personality.
Look at masks from different cultures such as Chinese, African and Native American.

[MA2019] (3) 1 :
1. Illustrate the product of two whole numbers as equal groups by identifying the number of groups and the number in each group and represent as a written expression.
