This activity allows students to practice matching numerals to a set of objects using the game "Train Counting."

This activity results from the ALEX Resource Development Summit.

Activity:

Students will use the Train Counting game to practice matching groups of objects to a numeral. In this game, students will be given multiple sets of objects and numerals. They will match the correct set of objects to the correct numeral. 

Students will record the numerals and matching objects in their math journals. 

Assessment Strategies:

The teacher will observe students working and notice those who are struggling to match the correct numeral to the group of objects.


Advanced Preparation:

The teacher needs to provide the link to students.

Students will need an internet-connected device and math journals.
