Overview:

In this activity, students will discuss the importance of pre-game meals and fluids for athletic performance. Athletes and teens need to be aware of what they eat before athletic contests. This activity will provide students with the appropriate and right types of foods to eat prior to an athletic contest.

This alignment results from the ALEX Health/PE COS Resource Alignment Summit.

Students may prepare meal plans during class to determine what they need to eat prior to participating in an athletic event.  Outside nutrition speakers may be brought in to the class to share how to plan a pre-game meal.
