Title: The Consequences of Being Too Plugged In-- Part 2 of Unplug: The Digital Diet Plan
Description:

Students will be introduced to five negative consequences of a poor "digital device diet." The teacher will lead students in utilizing the jigsaw literacy strategy, in which students will become members of a home group and an expert group as they research and discuss their assigned topic. The activity will culminate with students creating a presentation in the form of a research paper, poster, or slideshow to demonstrate their knowledge of the five consequences of a poor digital diet and their effect on all aspects of health.

Title: Comparing and Contrasting Mediums of Caged Bird by Maya Angelou
Description:

Students will explore three mediums of the famous poem, "Caged Bird"  by Maya Angelou. Students will read, listen to audio, and a watch a video of the poem and compare and contrast the differences using a graphic organizer.

Description:

This activity, used in conjunction with any research or project in which the students are using the Internet to gather information, will help students become more aware of the importance of evaluating sources. This activity will also aid students in determining whether a source is credible and appropriate for the topic they are researching.

Title: Padlet Puts Research Projects in Perspective
Description:

For this learning activity, students will be using a virtual bulletin board called Padlet to create a digital artifact that incorporates research and inquiry skills. Students will also use the Internet to locate digital sources that are related to a topic and include various multimedia components into the Padlet in order to enhance the final project.
