In this learning activity, students will make a comparison of Deviations – Mean Absolute vs. Standard – 

This learning activity allows a brief review of the Mean Absolute Deviation compared to the Standard Deviation. The expectation is for the students to understand they are related.

In this learning activity, students will use the Quizizz response system to solve for Standard Deviation. Quizizz is a type of formative assessment - through quizzing, collaboration, and presentation of content, that allows the teacher to monitor the students' comprehension of a set learning objective.  This Standard Deviation Quizizz consists of 9 questions that can be used as formative assessment or as whole group review. This activity is intended to be an After-Activity following a Standard Deviation Lesson.

In this learning activity, students will learn to find the standard deviation and be able to find the similarities and differences in 4 data sets. These sets have the same mean but different ranges and standard deviations. Students will discover that the standard deviation increases when points are further away from the mean, even those in the middle. This learning activity is intended to be a During Activity for a standard deviation lesson.
