Most kids should get between 10 to 11 hours of sleep each night. Why so much? Sleep gives the body a chance to rest, repair itself, and prepare for the next day. The following activities will help your students learn why sleep is important for a healthy body and mind.
Children will learn about the type of toothbrush to use for brushing teeth, how to recognize an old toothbrush, the best times for brushing their teeth, and whether it is okay to share a toothbrush. Children will receive instructions on how to brush their teeth and a demonstration of proper toothbrushing techniques, and, after that, the class will brush their teeth together.

Students will: 1) Understand that germs spread infections, illness, and disease; 2) Identify practices that promote health and prevent disease; 3) Demonstrate good personal health habits including hand washing before eating and brushing teeth.
