Students will create a sound story using a children's book, Punk Farm, by Jarrett J. Krosoczka. They will choose rhythm instruments that complement the important words in the book.
This activity was created as a result of the Arts COS Resource Development Summit.
Students will compose a song in rondo form. They will collaborate with a group of peers in the creating of the song. They will then perform the song for their class.
Students will listen to improvised flute performances. They will identify musical elements, including steady beat, rhythm, melody, harmony, and expressive qualities. They will improvise using recorders. The unit includes three lessons based on music from Nigeria.
